1) Active Kent & Medway Small grant & Workforce Development Fund:
The Active Kent & Medway small grant and Workforce Development Fund (up to £500) is available for any club or organisation, looking to encourage and increase participation in physical activity for those living in Kent or Medway (excluding London Boroughs).
50% of the total project costs, up to a maximum of £500 could be available for projects such as new programme of activities, taster sessions, events or pilot schemes, that re-engage with their previous audience and/or encourage those new to activity to continue to be active.
We can also offer up to 50% of the costs towards workforce development qualifications or awards that increase the quantity and quality of coaches and officials in Kent, and therefore assist the development of sport and physical activity in the county.
Active Kent & Medway will prioritise applications that can demonstrate a commitment to tackling inactivity and inequalities in sport and activity participation.
This is a rolling application programme with the funding panel meeting once a month to consider applications.

2) Kent Stop Smoking Service Support Grant 24/25:
The Kent Stop Smoking Service Support Grant is being administered by Active Kent & Medway on behalf of Kent County Council (KCC), aims to support the reduction of smoking prevalence in Kent.
The grant will need to support one of the below objectives. Examples are given but are not an exhaustive list and other ideas will be considered:
- Projects that increase resources to help individuals set a quit date or to quit smoking, such as:
– Cut down to quit initiatives.
– Smoking Harm Reduction.
– Smoking Cessation training for staff.
- Projects that increase referrals and improve pathways into KCC commissioned stop smoking services. This could include:
– Dedicated marketing materials on KCC’s stop smoking services.
– Consultation and outreach to promote available stop smoking support.
– Funding for events with priority groups to promote stop smoking offer.
- Projects increasing promotion of KCC’s ‘Stop Smoking Services’ and the benefits of quitting smoking. This could include:
– Creating marketing/imagery for our priority groups to increase engagement with services.
– Purchasing stop smoking materials.
– Creating smoke free spaces with details on support available to quit.
Grants are available of up to £10,000, although it is expected that most grants awarded will be in the region of £5,000.

3) Kent Drugs & Alcohol Service Support Grant 24/25:
The Kent Drugs & Alcohol Service Support Grant is being administered by Active Kent & Medway on behalf of Kent County Council (KCC), aims to reduce the harm caused by drugs and alcohol, and improve the health and wellbeing of Kent’s population.
The grant will need to support one of the below objectives. Examples are given but are not an exhaustive list and other ideas will be considered:
Increasing referrals and improving pathways into KCC’s commissioned drug and alcohol treatment services:
- Dedicated marketing materials on KCC’s drug and alcohol treatment services for cohorts the organisation already supports
- Undertaking outreach with certain cohorts who are not likely to engage with treatment and recovery services through traditional methods to promote support available
Providing recovery support activities that support individuals to develop their recovery capital and avoid relapse:
- Delivering activities which will provide individuals with purpose, this may include learning a new skill, hobby or developing the confidence to engage with existing employment support services
Grants are available of up to £10,000, although it is expected that most grants awarded will be in the region of £5,000.
