Know your councillor

During 2022 I was co-opted onto the Parish Council.  As I have been a resident on King Hill for over 12 years, I have now found myself in a position where I am able to give back to this great community that we all live in.  As a senior finance professional, I believe I can add some structure and rigor to the running of the parish, as well as ensuring that the precept we pay is used in the most efficient and effective manner.

  • Chair of Finance Committee

  • Ex-officio Member

Know your councillor

I joined the council in 2021 because I appreciate the great community we live in and wanted to do what I could to try to preserve and enhance it. Have enjoyed seeing the community come together on serious subjects such as the Regulation 18 Local Plan but also at social events such as the Jubilee Fair. In my time as a councillor I have represented the council at the TMBC Area 2 Planning Committee, sat on the Planning Sub -committee, chaired the Regulation 18 Local Plan working group and public meeting, and led the response to the Broadwater Farm Application.

I first joined the Council 4 years ago and after a short break, was co-opted back on in October 2022. As well as giving back to the Community through the Council, I participate in a number of other Community activities, as a member of the golf club, the local gym and as a Committee of a local cycling club. All of these allow me to interface with different members of the King’s Hill Community. I also enjoy helping residents in any way I can, through the full Council and the Committees I am on.

I believe that if you benefit from the work of an organisation and if circumstances allow you should be prepared to get involved in the continuation and development of that organisation. I have been a Kings Hill Resident since 2006. I served as a Student Union President, volunteered in local government initiatives. I served on the Committee of Kings Hill Gold Club Men’s section and was Club Captain in 2019 so have a good working experience of ‘committee life’. I have connected with local sporting and community clubs including Kings Hill Cricket Club and Kings Hill Tennis Club and have been inspired by the efforts, drive and enthusiasm shown by volunteers in these organisations. I have worked for globally recognised brands as well as small family firms and SME’s. I have a strong record in delivering change and getting the best out of people through listening and where necessary asking and answering difficult or challenging questions. Kings Hill Parish Council’s statement of purpose is ‘Enhancing the lives of the Kings Hill Community’ and I will play demonstrable part in delivering this ambition.
